About

Dominik Steinberg Headshot
Hello! I'm Dominik Steinberg and I've been working in software development for over 5 years at a not-for-profit company. I've started my freelancing company, Stonecrest Data Solutions LLC, so I can start using my expertise to help people across a wider swath of industries. Though I certainly specialize in software and data engineering, I love tinkering so my problem solving skills cover most engineering disciplines.

Professional Experience

SRC Inc.

Since a little after graduating college in 2019, I've been working at SRC Inc., a not-for-profit defense contractor that specializes in radar systems that improve battlefield survivability. For example, during the Global War on Terror, SRC Inc. was known for building the DUKE which is an IED-jamming box that can be placed in Humvees and other vehicles.

While working at SRC Inc., I've filled multiple roles, starting as a Systems Engineer where I helped organize subsystems on a vast data management project, to a Machine Learning Engineer where I work on developing advanced algorithms and data pipelines.

TensorFlow Certification

Outside of my career at SRC Inc., I've honed my skills as a data engineer on multiple personal projects. This work culminated in me earning the TensorFlow Developer's Certificate which you can view by visiting this site and searching my name.

Personal Background

I'm originally from Athens County in Southeastern Ohio and am now living in Dayton, Ohio with my wife Sara. I love tinkering with just about anything I can get my hands on and also enjoy mountain biking and playing the electric guitar.

Dominik and Sara

Mountain biking has become a significant pass-time for me. I especially enjoy the competitiveness of racing cross country events throughout Ohio. Here is a photo of me at my first race in Chauncey, Ohio at the first annual Bailey’s Dirt Fondo in 2023.

Dominik Mountain Biking

Since I grew up on a small family farm, I love the outdoors and I try getting out as frequently as possible. I’ll also occasionally volunteer my chainsaw experience to help clear mountain biking trails around the Dayton area. Here’s a photo of me having fun clearing debris from the remnants of hurricane Helene in 2024.
